Get Out of My Dream - The Clouds Summer 1987.
I first (and only) saw The Clouds bottom of a Subway package tour with The Flatmates, Brilliant Corners (headlining) and The Chesterfields at the "Alternative Music Society" Summer gig or "ball". Oh yes I had fun as a student.. Me: Having an affair and holding hands with (my future wife). Wearing anorak. Looking ridiculous (I'm 6ft 2) She: Wearing anorak. Looking cute as fuck. The Clouds were the hairiest, scariest kid popsters I'd ever seen. They only did about 3 songs, were probably pissed on the generous Student Union rider (thank you taxpayers!) and thrilled me cos they kicked an amp or something. For some reason I remember being very impressed by the walking off with feedback still going type schtick. But then I'd never recovered from A Jesus and Mary Chain *riot* in 1985 you see. And I loved their dougal fringes. (why wouldn't my hair grow that straight ? I wanted to look like Brian Jones. I feared I resembled Shaun Ryder). To this day I love "Tranquil".(didn't like "get out of my dream" as much though.) Please don't tell me they're now bald.
"The Clouds were the hairiest, scariest kid popsters I'd ever seen" - hairier than you? you big ape.
